The Institute for Shipboard Education invites adventurers of all ages to explore 18 ports of call on the Coastal Cultures of the West Enrichment Voyage from April 26, 2013 to June 16, 2013, a brand new itinerary for Enrichment Voyages. Participants will leave from Spain and voyage across the Mediterranean Sea, through the Strait of Gibraltar, across the English Channel, and into the North and Baltic Seas aboard one of the world’s fastest passenger ships, the MV Explorer. This unique learning opportunity offers adventurous in-port excursions combined with abundant learning opportunities afforded by our onboard Enrichment Sessions.

The Europe and North Africa voyage begins in Barcelona, Spain on April 26 and travels to destinations that include Monte Carlo, Monaco; Livorno (Florence), Italy; Cadiz, Spain; Casablanca, Morocco; Lisbon, Portugal; Le Havre, France; Antwerp, Belgium; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Leith (Edinburgh), Scotland; Belfast, Northern Ireland; and Dublin, Ireland; Dover, England; Olso, Norway; Riga, Latvia; St. Petersburg, Russia; Stockholm, Sweden; Copenhagen, Denmark; Hamburg, Germany before finally docking in Southampton, England on June 16. Join us as we explore the ancient and modern history of this culturally rich region for the first time.

Enrichment Sessions aboard the MV Explorer will include discussions on history, art, cultural traditions, and much more. Smaller and more intimate than traditional cruise ships, our well-appointed vessel includes two dining rooms, a wellness center, outdoor swimming pool, outdoor sport court, fitness center, 9,000-volume library, computer lab, and limited wireless Internet access.
